Just a Little Sick
Ever since coming back from Edmonton, Katie has been a lot more fussy about going to sleep. Tuesday was the worst. It took me 30-45 minutes to get her to sleep at every nap. I would have her fast asleep, try to put her down, and she would immediately start screaming. I would have to do it over and over again. I noticed she had a little fever that evening. Does 38.2 even constitute a fever? She was happy when awake like usual and didn't have any other symptoms besides the fussiness when going to sleep. I guess she was just sick enough to torture us all through the night. I put her down at 10pm that night. She was up at 1am and didn't go to sleep again until 4am when I fed her again. I had her for the first hour and Robert took her for the other two while she just screamed at him because he refused to bounce her up and down. The she was up again at 6:30, then at 8 and didn't go down for a nap until 9:15am. Then she was up at 10am, but then she went to sleep at 11:30 for three and a half hours. After that, she was much better. However, she has aparently forgotten how to sleep through the night as she woke up every four hours. Not too bad, in comparison to the previous night, but a far cry from the 8-10 hours that she used to do...
Wedding Plans
On the way to camp this morning, Michael was being silly and making Naomi laugh.
Naomi: Michael, you're so funny. That's why I'm going to marry you.
Michael: I'm going to marry Katie.
Benton (being the wise eight year old): You can't marry your sister. Anyways, you're not old enough to get married.
Michael: I already know that. I know how old I have to be to be married.
(Well I'm glad he does, because I have no idea!)
Michael teaching Benton and Naomi how to make the baby smile:
"You have to say - Yes, baby. Yes, baby. Yes, baby. - over and over again" (In a super high pitched voice.)
Katie actually fell asleep on her own on the way home from camp with only a couple of little cries. That was a first! I put her straight in her room in her car seat. I wasn't going to mess with a good thing.
