I have the greatest baby ever. Last Sunday (June 28), she slept for 6 hours straight. I was very happy and hoped that it would continue. Six hours is great for a baby less than two months old. The next night, she was up every three to four hours again, so I figured it was just a lucky night. Imagine my surprise the next night when she slept for eight hours! I was telling everyone around (and there were quite a few people around because it was Canada day). I didn't even mind carrying her around in the sling all day as I waited in line for pony rides for the boys. The next night was even better, ten hours! I had to phone Grandma M and tell her the great news. Two months old and sleeping through the night! We are all so proud. Now, a week later, the sleeping has continued (except for one night when she got up because of a dirty diaper). She usually goes to bed between 9:30pm and 10:30pm and wakes up between 6:30am and 7:30am. Perfect. Just like her.
In other news, she had her first set of shots yesterday. I went alone with her while Dad went shopping with the boys. Michael loves going to get her weighed, but he said that he didn't want to hear her cry when she got her shots. (He's still traumatized from his shots a few months ago.) She was wonderful. Even though she was tired, she didn't cry and laid still for her weighing (14lbs, 3ozs) and measurements (24.75 inches long). She's still off the charts, but her weight is good for her height. Of course she cried while getting her shots (three of them!), but calmed right down once I started doing knee bends and went to sleep. She was a little fussier than usual for the rest of the evening, but still slept nine hours. What an angel. The nurse even said so, so I have objective proof.
We've decided to try to record cute/funny things that the boys are saying in this blog as well. Here's one from yesterday.
Michael to Benton and Naomi on the way to summer camp:
(In a really loud voice) My Daddy used to have really big muscles!
(More subdued, kind of like an afterthought) But, I'm not sure if he has them still.
